FAQ

Short answers to the questions teams ask before and after connecting Averil.

Does Averil change anything without asking?

Not without you. A change is a plan that a person approves, for the exact steps shown. The one exception is one you choose: your account owner can let Averil open pull requests with proven fixes on its own. Merging stays with you.

Which tools does it connect to?

Slack, GitHub, AWS, Google Workspace, Railway and Supabase today. Google Cloud, Azure, Okta, Vercel, SIEM and EDR webhooks, and Microsoft Teams are coming soon.

Can Averil read our secrets or customer data?

It reads secret names to show where each one lives, never their values. The AWS role explicitly denies reading objects, secret values and table rows. Secrets found in code or logs are redacted before anything reaches a model.

Is our code used to train models?

No. Averil never uses your data to train AI models. See the privacy policy.

What if Averil is wrong?

Every claim cites evidence, and claims without it are dropped. A model from a different provider argues against each conclusion before you see it. Code findings count only when a failing test proves them. If a case was a false alarm, dismiss it with a reason, and if a closed case comes back, reopen it.

How many messages will we get?

At most three unprompted messages per person per week outside case threads, by default. Critical cases always get through. Answers to your own questions never count.

Do we still need our scanner?

Keep it. Averil works the Dependabot, code scanning and secret scanning alerts you already have, and also watches identity, cloud and deploy platforms that scanners usually do not cover.

What happens if we disconnect a tool?

Averil marks it as access revoked, says in affected case threads what it lost, and keeps working from its last snapshot with those checks marked as pending access.

How do we get started, and what does it cost?

Averil is in early access, and the founders onboard each design partner. Book a time or request the free security check. Plans are on the pricing page.
